I'm off to the Willamette Writers Conference in Portland for a long weekend and I'll be pitching my idea to a handful of people.
Let's hope I interest some people in Grief Shadows: Young, Pregnant and Widowed.
I've got about 120 pages of written material and 10 - 20 "pages" of pictures, art work and clippings to add in as a publisher would allow. I'd like to write another hundred pages to add to the manuscript. To fill out the edges, so to speak. To round out the topics and bring in my voice a bit more.
My critique group suggested that instead of straight essays of memories, I should weave in a 2nd person narrative that gives the reader hope and direction. That's the other hundred pages.
Good Luck to me!
